AlgaEnergy organizes an Open Doors Day to its facilities with university students
01 5月, 2018Students from the prestigious universities UPM and UAM visited AlgaEnergy’s facilities and discovered some of its most advanced technologies.
AlgaEnergy wants to keep growing on the basis of knowledge. In fact, the company was founded over 10 years ago to consolidate the knowledge that was generated during more than 4 decades of research on the field of microalgae, much of it developed in Spanish universities. This basic knowledge has been applied by AlgaEnergy in the implementation of cutting-edge cultivation plants, recognized as the most advanced technologies worldwide.
AlgaEnergy wants to correspond to the university community sharing the knowledge acquired throughout these 10+ years of applied R&D, which have already allowed them to launch finished products based on microalgae. Therefore, and addressing the growing interest in the microalgae technologies developed by AlgaEnergy, on April the 23rd, AlgaEnergy organized an Open Doors Day on its Technological Platform for Experimentation with Microalgae (PTEM), the pilot plant located at the Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas International Airport.
The future of a growing sector
Nearly 100 students from prestigious universities were able to discover its facilities, the biomass production processes used and, in addition, to know the properties of microalgae and their potential for application in different industries such as agriculture, cosmetics and human nutrition, among others.
The Doors Open Day was attended by groups of students in the field of the biotechnology from the Politécnica University of Madrid (UPM) and the Autónoma University of Madrid (UAM).
